MECHANIC / FITTER

Due to growth and expansion Harry Barker Properties Ltd is looking to recruit a mechanic / fitter to work alongside our existing team. With a fleet of HGVs, Vans and Construction Plant the mechanic / fitter will report to our Garage Manager and will be based in our workshop at Askam in Furness, LA16 7HE.

The successful candidate is key to keeping the vehicles inspected, well serviced and minimise downtime, including MOT prep work and the reporting and acting on any defects or issues promptly.

Responsibilities:

  • Working under the direction and instruction of the Garage Manager
  • Diagnosing and repairing vehicle defects
  • Completion of documentation for example job cards / repair sheets
  • Vehicle breakdown and roadside repairs as necessary
  • Visiting construction sites to repair construction plant and equipment

Driving licence is essential

Rate of pay negotiable dependent on experience and qualifications.

Experienced Paver / Kerber

HBP are looking for experienced Pavers / Kerbers to join our team for current works in and around the local area mainly Barrow, Ulverston and Dalton-In-Furness.

Essential:

  • CSCS Card
  •  Full driving licence
  • Previously completed paving / kerbing works to a high standard

Desired:

  • CPCS card with relevant plant tickets e.g Dumper, Excavator, Roller
  • Streetworks Card

EXPERIENCED GROUNDWORKERS

Our company is looking for several Groundworkers to join our team.

Responsibilities:

· Slabbing

· Paving

· Drainage

· Pipe Laying

· Kerbing

· Foundations

External works:

Laying slabs, kerbs, paving, edgings, plot drainage, foundations

and all other associated tasks.

Requirements:

· 2 references related to civils/groundworks.

· Eligibility to work in the UK.

· Planning and organising.

· Team working.

· Risk Management.

· Full UK licence.

· Health and Safety awareness.

· Valid CSCS card (as a minimum).

· The ability to perform high quality work.

· Use of own basic hand tools preferred, but not essential.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

CLASS 1 HGV DRIVER

HBP have an exciting opportunity for a Class 1 HGV Driver.

This position is full time Monday – Friday and dependent on your licence / ability you will be required to drive the following vehicles:

Tipper Wagon
Hook Wagon
Artic Unit and Trailer

As a HGV Driver you will be responsible for the safe transportation of materials or plant to and from sites usually based in and around Cumbria.

You will need:

· HGV Licence

· Drivers CPC card

· Digital Tachograph Card

· Customer service driven attitude

· The ability to work well under pressure

· Be able to organise and fill out relevant paperwork for each task

· Strong work ethic

Training will be provided for the right candidate.

As a HGV driver you will be expected to carryout simple maintenance of vehicles, report any defects or damage to our maintenance staff. You will complete daily safety checks on the vehicle you are using and will need to be compliant with EU drivers’ hours rules and regulations.

Rate of pay negotiable dependent on experience and qualifications.
